Why Around the Horn?

Well, for longtime fans of Chuck U, That was the name of my column when I wrote for the Newton Daily News back in the early 90s.  Its not a spin off  of the show on ESPN.  I enjoy baseball and since this is a term that I feel appropriately sums up the array of topics I would discuss, it fits well. 

WELCOME!

The first of many blogs to come.  I recently got a smartphone and because of it my time on social media like Facebook and Twitter has diminished.  So I have decided instead to do updates via blog.  I will still be on social media-- just not as much. 

A little about Chuck U!  I work for the #1 retail bank in the country. . . I also do stand-up comedy throughout the Midwest. I announce Roller Derby and my home team is Iowa's original Roller Derby team the 2010 UNDEFEATED Mid-Iowa Rollers! I also officiate weddings from time to time to help friends who are not necessarily wanting a church wedding.  

What would one expect to find on this blog in the future?  Well all sorts of good things-- I want to be able to have open discussions on topics of interest-- It may be sports, current events, entertainment, the economy or my dogs.  I bowl and play softball so updates and musings from those events may wind up here too.
